Ink Bleed Compensation and BWR: Keeping Bars from Closing Up
Ink spread turns good digital geometry into bad printed geometry. Bar Width Reduction, or BWR, counteracts that spread by shrinking bars slightly before print so the final physical mark lands closer to the intended width.
- Start with conservative compensation and verify on the real substrate.
- Measure printed bars, not just press settings.
- Revalidate after ink, speed, stock, or darkness changes.
